Hospice is a specialized kind of holistic care for individuals who are making life’s final journey.  The McLean Hospice Team - nurses, social workers, counselors, home health aides and volunteers - prides itself on helping patients find comfort to live as fully as possible.  Our Hospice focus is ensuring this final journey is filled with a rich sense of dignity and the best quality of life possible.

Meet the McLean Hospice Bereavement Specialists and Join Their Support Groups

McLean Hospice counselorsMcLean Hospice has a team of bereavement counselors, spiritual counselors and social workers who are all Masters prepared and have specific training to support those experiencing loss. They are committed to supporting any adult who is experiencing loss whether their loved one was served by McLean Hospice or not.


McLean Hospice Volunteers Spread Hope and Comfort with Annual Holiday Bag Project

Taffy Wilcox, of Avon, Project Leader works with a few of the 30 McLean Hospice volunteers to finish up the bags for 60 patients and their families. They were like little elves working feverously to put together holiday bags of hope and joy. Saturday December 10th, thirty McLean Hospice volunteers were spotted busily gift wrapping and attractively packaging items for sixty McLean Hospice patients and families.

2010 McLean Hospice Memorial Quilt of Remembrance Unveiled

Families and friends who contributed quilt squares in honor of their departed loved ones, Hospice Team members, Volunteers, and residents of McLean, came together on November 1st to unveil the 2010 Hospice Memorial Quilt of Remembrance in a brief ceremony followed by a reception in the Health Center great room.

McLean Hospice Graduates 20 Volunteers

Twenty new volunteers have just completed over 20 hours of intense McLean Hospice Training and will soon join the cadre of fifty-five active volunteers supporting the McLean Hospice Program.
