McLean Hospice Memorial Remembrance Quilt Unveiling

On Tuesday, November 1st at 10 a.m, the McLean Hospice Memorial Remembrance Quilt honoring Hospice patients from 2010 will be unveiled.  The event will be held in the McLean Healthcare Facility lobby, 75 Great Pond Rd Simsbury with a reception following in the same location.  Those served by McLean hospice whose loved ones died in 2010 and all interested members of the community are invited to attend.

The McLean Hospice Memorial Remembrance Quilt was created with love and care by surviving family members of Mclean Hospice patients who died in 2010.  Families created quilt squares to represent the unique lives, hobbies, roles and contributions of their loved ones.  The Canton Women of Fiber donated their time to sew the squares together into a Memorial quilt legacy.

The McLean Hospice Bereavement Team will present readings during the ceremony describing the symbolism of quilts… how the squares and fabric represent all of us being a part of the fabric of life.   Beautiful quilts from past years will also be on display.
